The Canadian International School (CIS) in Singapore exemplifies a standard of academic excellence, cultural diversity, and global citizenship in the heart of Southeast Asia. Founded in 1990, CIS has been a prominent educational institution, catering to students from over 74 nationalities, fostering a rich tapestry of perspectives and experiences.
CIS Lakeside Campus offers a comprehensive education from preschool to the Diploma Programme, following the globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. With a commitment to holistic development, the school emphasizes not only academic achievement but also the nurturing of character, leadership skills, and a sense of social responsibility.
One of the defining features of CIS is its dedication to bilingualism, offering both English and French language streams to students. This bilingual approach not only strengthens linguistic abilities but also fosters a deeper appreciation for different cultures and worldviews.
CIS boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including modern classrooms, science laboratories, performing arts theatres, sports complexes, and extensive green spaces. These facilities provide students with a conducive environment for both learning and extracurricular activities, enabling them to explore their interests and talents beyond the classroom.
Moreover, CIS prides itself on its vibrant community, where students, teachers, and parents come together to create a supportive and inclusive environment. The school organizes various cultural events, sports tournaments, and community service initiatives, fostering collaboration, empathy, and a sense of belonging among its members.
In addition to its academic prowess, CIS places a strong emphasis on preparing students for an increasingly interconnected world. Through globally minded curricula, experiential learning opportunities, and international exchange programs, students develop the skills and mindset necessary to thrive in a multicultural and rapidly changing society.
In essence, the Canadian International School in Singapore epitomizes excellence in education, embracing diversity, fostering innovation, and empowering students to become compassionate, principled, and lifelong learners prepared to make meaningful contributions to the global community.
The Listening Lab is proud to have implemented Induction Loop Systems for CIS – Lakeside Campus in accordance, if not, more than BCA’s guidelines on BCA’s Code of Accessibility, catering to the needs of students and staff who are wearing Hearing Aids or Cochlear Implants. The venues that have Induction Loops installed are at the Level 4 Gymnasium, Level 4 Theatrette, L1 Reception Counter. Apart from Induction Loops Systems, FM Systems supplied by The Listening Lab can also be requested from the school if there is a requirement for it.
Individuals with Hearing Aids and Cochlear Implants would be able to benefit from the Induction Loop Systems when they switch to their ‘Telecoil’ setting. For those who experience some challenges due to their telecoil setting not being configured or properly set-up, please advise them to consult their respective audiologist for assistance.
